The payment works in the same way as contactless payments with your payment card. Hold your wearable close to the payment terminal to make a contactless payment.
For transaction amounts up to € 50 or 100 (depending on your bank) you don't have to enter a PIN. For higher amounts you enter the PIN of the debit card linked to your artemissio. These payments will be debited straight from your current account, just like payments with your debit card.
You can make payments with your wearable wherever you can currently make contactless payments using your existing mastercard.
As we use passive technology, you never need to charge your artemissio. It is always ready to use it, even if your phone's battery is dead.
No, you don't need a phone nearby to pay. After setting it up once, you can pay easily using your artemissio.
Artemissio’s smart jewellery and accessories are endorsed by your bank and protected by a payments-regulated security platform. You can be confident that your transactions are fast, secure, and reliable.
To enable the payment functionality a digital copy of your payment card - token - is made and placed on your device.
If your artemissio is lost or stolen, you can (temporarily) block it via your account that you have used to set up your device.

NFC (Near Field Communication) allows to exchange data safely, quickly and contactless. NFC is like Bluetooth, but with a much shorter range. Thanks to NFC, you can make contactless payments or easily share your contact details.
Because our devices are passive, which provides an extra level of security against scammers, tracking is not possible. If you lose your device, you can quickly block it via your account and order a new one.
Artemissio is compatible with any smartphone that has NFC functionality, which include almost every modern smartphone. All functions are performed via the mobile application. Once the set-up is done you can manage (block, delete, etc.) the device trough the app.
The usability of your device for payment purposes is limited by the chip lifetime.
In early 2027 a new chip generation will be introduced and the old chips will become obsolete. This can have following impact on your device:
1. if you buy a device before March 2027 the payment function on your device will work only as long as the connected card is valid. After March 2027 it will not be possible to connect a new payment card to your device. Therefore we suggest to connect a card with a validity date as long as possible.
2. if you buy a device after March 2027 your device will run with a new chip generation and the payment function should work for about 10 years. During this time you can change the connected card several times.
This restriction do not impact the business card functionality of your device. It will remain available after March 2027.
